When I first started in my teaching career at DTHS in 1966 Ian was my Head of Department. As a probationer I could not have found a better person to put me on the right track in teaching; Ian was a gentleman (and a gentle man) who rarely, if ever, lost his cool and was an inspirational and calm mentor..He was also a good friend. He had a great sense of humour and was popular in the staff room. A good Geographer too!!! He will be missed from the Wilmington community. Terry (Moyle)
